While Carven Homme turns to a nice warm woody base with amber and tobacco, Gucci Envy for Men goes to the infamous incense and patchouli that hints at amber and a smooth note of vanilla that distinguish it as an Oriental Woody (more of an Oriental Woody/Aromatic to me, if such a thing exists!)

Another solution is in my humble opinion Very Irresistible for man Givenchy (more powerful, floral and synthetically modern-chic but exuding points in common with Envy which I prefer). I find Envy's nuances also in Pour Un Homme Caron and Askew Humiecki&Graef. Carven Homme in the glass bottle smells probably 90% like it. I’ve owned both and they were ultra similar, with the Carven having slightly worse performance but with a tiny price tag at the time. Gucci Envy for Men is amazing. I blind bought it in a lot a little while back - great stuff. Carven Homme, from what I recall, does not do it justice in replacing it.
